I believe that in order to succeed as a translator, you ought to truly love what you do. It is one of those jobs that require passion, otherwise you find yourself writing gibberish. Heck, even translators who love their job find themselves  sometimes not able to produce a beautiful, accurate translation.

Luckily for our profession, there are things that put us in the mood (you HAVE to be in the mood), and other things that are indispensable for us to succeed at what we do.

1- Google.

It has to top the list. It just has to.

2- Microsoft Word.

99.9% of my translations are delivered in Microsoft Word format. I love it because it is super easy to use, and you can also easily track changes, add comments and format the text to your liking.

3-  Coffee.

I haven’t met any translator who does not drink coffee! I love it, I love the aroma, the warmth of the mug in my hands, the taste; All the charm of a hot cup of Joe will definitely set the mood for an amazing job.

4- Music.

I love all music and I listen to almost everything, depending on what mood I’m in. I love pop and alternative rock the most.

5- Chocolate.
