The Translation Process: Beyond Language Conversion

A successful translator’s job doesn’t stop at just translating the text, but they actually need to proofread the target text not once, but twice (at least).

In fact, even if the translation was all correct, typos still happen due to speed. Our mind might read the word correctly, but if another person reads it, chances are they might find typos that the translator didn’t pay attention to, as they are the person who has written the text.

For a most accurate and professional service, make sure to proofread your translation several times and, if possible, hand it to a proofreader or editor who could help double check. It’s better to stay on the safe side and deliver premium quality translation than to work fast and regret the results later!

At TransPremium, we are keen on delivering nothing but the best language services. For that matter, we adopt a translation process that consists of five steps:

1- Thorough Reading of the Source Text

The translator starts by reading the text at hand, making some research to fully understand the subject. If need be, the translator does not hesitate to ask the client some questions in this regard!

2- The Actual Translation

After reading the source text, the translator translates the text in the most accurate way possible.

3- Proofreading of the Translation

Once the translation is done, the translator double checks their target text for a first time, comparing the source and target texts to each other and making sure no typing mistakes are left (after all, we’re all human!).

4- Final Editing of the Translation

Now that the target text is almost ready, one last step is necessary before sending the translation to the client. The translator hands the translation to an editor/proofreader who reads the translation one last time.

5- Last Look at the Translation

Now that an editor checked the work of the translator, it’s time for the latter to take one last look at the text to finalize all amendments and come up with the final version of the translation, which should, of course, sound like originally written in the target language! This is why it is important to hire native translators to ensure a very correct and accurate language.
