I always snap pictures of language mistakes on different products’ packages. I don’t know why some companies don’t go the extra mile when it comes to their packaging design. How can they not think of language as a crucial factor in this regard? After all, it’s a one-time expense that goes a long way and that lasts as long as the content remains the same!
In this blog post, I will post pictures of language mistakes on some products’ packages. Mistakes on billboards will be posted in another blog post later on (although I’m sure there will be a lot more similar posts to follow, unfortunately).
This is a 7Up Free can. In English, it says “Free of sugar, free of coloring, free of caffeine”. The Arabic term for “free” is خالي or خالٍ. Here it says خالِ, which is wrong.
Do I need to clarify that the word in the above picture should be “baking” and not “backing”? Well, I just did!

Pajamas or pyjamas, but not pijamas! Pajamas is the preferred spelling in American English, while pyjamas is preferred in the main varieties of English from outside North America. In Canada, pyjamas appears to be more commonly used.
