For spaciousness, it’s about thinking about every item that’s there and making sure that anything that can be stored elsewhere is moved away.

They’ll be a lot happier if they have some plants, photos of family, the chair and desk of their preference, and so on. You can even give them a budget to deck out their desk in the way that they see fit.

Studies have shown that people much prefer going to work — and also work harder — when they feel like they have friends there. But it’s up to you to ensure that people can get to know one another. Could you add a social space to your office, for instance? This will give people the chance to get to know one another in a relaxed environment. It will also encourage collaboration, which can have a positive impact on the company’s operations, too.
