New York is well known for its major sightseeing advantages. There’s a reason it’s called the city that never sleeps- there’s so much to see and do. Many people take the opportunity to spend a weekend in New York just to have a chance to see as much as they can.

With only two days to experience everything New York has to offer it can be difficult to cram everything in. That’s why it’s so important to prioritize what you want to see. If you’re headed to New York and your time is limited, here’s where you should spend your time.

The Empire State Building

If anything represents the majesty of New York, it’s The Empire State Building. Just looking at this skyscraper from the ground is enough to leave you in awe. For a reasonable fee, you can also explore the building and its history.

On a clear day, you can head to the top of The Empire State Building and it’s possible to see up to six states. Don’t forget to take a selfie when you reach the top.

Central Park

NYC’s Central Park is a beautiful area right in the heart of New York. It’s been the scene for many movies, many proposals, and many weddings. It covers 843 acres of park land and there’s lots to see throughout the park. 

If you’re strapped for time and you want to see the whole park, it can help to rent a bicycle or pay for a horse and carriage ride. Walking around the park can take up to three hours. Attractions include water features and statues throughout.

Statue of Liberty

The Statue of Liberty is known all around the world. As a gesture of friendship from France, this statue represents liberty, freedom, and democracy. To visit this site, you may find that you need to book your tickets in advance.

You’ll take a ferry across to the statue and then you’ll get a chance to explore the statue itself. You can book crown tickets if you want to walk to the top of the statue and see views from across Manhattan. 

Times Square

It’s another well known attraction in New York and it’s a must see- especially if you’re in New York for New Year’s Eve. Visiting Times Square is like being transported into a futuristic world where anything is possible. It’s usually very busy so brace yourself for big crowds.

The amount of time you spend here is entirely up to you. You may just want a flying visit for a photo opportunity or you may want to stay a while and book some Broadway tickets while you’re there.

Grand Central Station

Found in Midtown New York, this public train station is steeped in American history. Standing proud since 1913, the grandeur of this station is inspiring. Step inside and revisit favorite scenes from movies or just admire the beautiful architecture.
