Signs You Should Visit the Dentist Immediately

Having a smile that lights up the room is something that everyone dreams of. There are certain dental issues that you should never ignore and once you find out that you are having these issues, you need to take steps to go see your dentist as soon as possible.

Once you notice that these signs are affecting your teeth it’s best to go to a dentist quickly.

Bleeding Gums

If you notice blood running from your gums like a river, this is not a sign that you should take lightly, it’s a clear indicator that you have a dental emergency on hand.

It may be caused by gum disease and if you do not do something about it it could erode the very foundation of your teeth. You could end up losing them. Get to the dentist as soon as possible.

Chips or Cracks

If you experience chips and cracks in your tooth you need to visit a dentist. Aside from the fact that chips and crap can take away from the beauty of your smile, they’re often a railway line for bacteria to enter your gums.

If a crack or chip is severe you can expect to also feel some pain or at least hypersensitivity in the area until you get it fixed.

Swollen Face

If your face has suddenly become larger than life and looks like a balloon it may be due to an allergy. However, you will be able to tell that it is not an allergy when you also notice that there is a severe toothache as well.

Your face is most likely swollen because you have an abscessed tooth. This situation needs to be dealt with as soon as possible.

Discoloured Tooth

As you begin to age you can expect that discoloration will become a natural part of your life. To maintain that white glossy smile the best thing you can do is to use teeth whitening toothpaste or get your teeth professionally whitened.

However, there are certain situations where teeth go from yellow to dark brown to grey. This is usually the case when the pulp inside your tooth is rotting, you will need to get professional help.

Sharp Pains

Sharp pain in any of your teeth that makes you double over in pain is a dental emergency. You can try to treat it with over-the-counter pain relievers.

However, if the pain is especially sharp, pain relievers will not be able to control it, you are having an emergency dental situation and you need to see the dentist.

If you want to keep your brilliant smile it is in your best interest to make sure that you take action and see a dentist if you notice any of the symptoms listed here. The last thing you want is to make things get so bad that you end up losing a tooth. You can save yourself a lot of money and hassle if you just take action quickly.
