Tips To Improve Workplace Safety In A Post-Covid World

It’s not surprising that many of us are becoming more conscious of the germs that exist around us and on us, due to COVID-19. The pandemic has certainly shaken up the world in a variety of ways and that includes the humble workplace. It’s important to improve your workplace safety for your staff when you eventually get staff back into the office. Here are some tips to improve workplace safety in a post-covid world.

Review Your Cleaning Contract

Firstly, it’s good to take a look at your cleaning contract. Chances are, things have changed a lot in terms of protocol when it comes to cleaning and regularly sanitizing surfaces. As a result, you may find that there are some outdated areas to your contract and that you might need more cleaners as a result. With that being said, take a good look at your contracts, assess them and as a result, you’ll have everything that you need in place for cleaning. This is something that you should have set up and have ready before your employees start back in the workplace

Have Regular Cleaning In Place

Regular cleaning is a must, especially when it comes to surfaces. Your staff are going to be touching everything and anything so regular wipe downs are going to be needed. These may be every hour or half hour depending on how big the workforce is.

Regular cleaning is important to help keep everyone safe and to minimize the risks that come with bacteria sitting on surfaces. It’s also worth checking what cleaning products are being used in order to get rid of as much bacteria as possible.

Maintain Social Distancing For As Long As Possible

It’s important to maintain social distancing for as long as you possibly can. Even when most offices have returned to work, it’s good to keep up social distancing to help reduce the risk of spreading any cases that crop up.

Carlos Ramirez Safety is a good resource to look at in order to help set up a space that’s going to be as safe as possible for your staff. Social distancing is going to continue providing that space that’s needed to stop the spread of Covid. It might not be necessary to do so, but it might be worth wearing masks still to help prevent bacteria spreading.

Give Your Staff Regular Breaks

Staff breaks are just as important as they were before but it might have been that staff didn’t use them as much as they should have. These staff breaks should be regular in order to manage the amount of people in one space at once. Some offices might not be big enough to cater to all staff.

The workplace isn’t going to be back to normal for some time but if you’re seen to be making progression then it can certainly help to ease your employee’s initial fears surrounding the spread of COVID-19. Use these tips to build up confidence as employees come back into the workplace.
