Top Ideas For A Side Hustle

There has never been such an emphasis on side hustles as there is now. Whether you are looking to make a bit of money on the side because you have lost your job, had your hours cut, or are saving for something special, luckily there are more choices than ever. A side hustle is great as it is something you can do at any time of the day, as and when you please and can often fit it around your other job. You can take on as much or as little work as you want and have a good level of control over what it is you do. Just make sure that you take all the appropriate steps and pay tax at the end of the year if your earnings fall into the bracket. Here are some top ideas for a side hustle that you can try.

  1. Sell crafts online

If you love art and crafts, then why not make a bit of money out of it? It could be that you decide to sell your paintings, handmade jewelry or gift boxes, no matter what it is, it could be a good solution to topping up your income on the side. There are many sites that you can sell your wares on, including Etsy and eBay, but you could also set up your own business website too. This takes a bit more time to do, but would mean you don’t have to pay the same seller fees as you do on other external sites.

  1. Do some freelance work

If you are a writer, editor or designer, why not make some extra cash by taking on freelance jobs on the side? Look at sites such as People Per Hour, Fiverr and Worksome for jobs, as well as the many Facebook groups out there designed to connect freelancers with those needing work. Make sure that you charge an appropriate rate for your level, being careful not to oversell or undersell yourself.

  1. Tutor someone online

If you are good in a certain skill, there are many ways that you can tutor someone online and get paid for it. You will need to apply, prove you are good at what you do and then get connected with students who are looking to learn and improve their skills. You can fit this easily around your schedule and it is great to know that you are helping someone that needs it.

  1. Sell your photography

If you are a photographer, you can make a fair bit of money out of selling your photos online. You can either sell them privately or through a stock site such as Pexels, Shutterstock or Pixabay. Do your research and find the ones that are best for you.

These are just a few ideas for a side hustle that you can try. If you don’t like one or find that it is not very lucrative, then why not move on and try something else? What are you going to give a go first? Let us know in the comments below!
