Capernaum by Nadine Labaki Nominated for an Oscar
Nadine Labaki’s incredible movie Capernaum, which star is a real-life Syrian refugee living in Beirut (who has now resettled with his parents to Norway), just got nominated for an Academy Award for the category of “Best Foreign Film”.
The other movies that are nominated for the same Oscar are the following:
“Cold War” – Poland
“Roma” – Mexico
“Shoplifters” – Japan
“Never Look Away” – German
The Academy Awards will be live on February 24.
Congratulations are in order for Nadine Labaki and the entire cast of Capernaum. The nomination is in itself an achievement. That said, I truly wish the movie wins this Oscar because Labaki really deserves it!
