8 Signs you’re in the Wrong Career

Do you feel as though you are in the wrong career? Maybe you are anxious about making a change, as you don’t want to end up in a situation that is worse than what you’re in right now. Either way, this guide will help you to turn things around for yourself, so you can look forward to a brighter future.

You are Burnt Out

People who are in the wrong career, often feel burnt out. They feel drained, to the point where they have nothing left in the tank. If this sounds like you then you need to do something about that. Some of the signs that you are burnt out include you having a lot of fatigue, as well as insomnia and more sick days than you’d like. It can be very difficult to know when it’s time to call it quits, but at the same time, you don’t want to run yourself into the ground, as this will make it even more difficult to escape the situation you are currently in.

You are Bored or Apathetic

If you are bored at work or if you are apathetic then this is another major red flag. You know you can do more, you just don’t want to. If this sounds like you then this is time for you to make a change. You need to make yourself feel more challenged and you also need to try and unlock your potential too.

You are Jealous of Other Roles

If you find that you feel somewhat jealous of those who have other roles then this is another sign that you are in the wrong job. You may feel envious of those who have a better role, or more responsibility. On the flip side, you might feel as though you want less to do during the day, as you are sick and tired of feeling burnt out.

You Struggle with Dread

If you find that every Sunday, you struggle with dread then this is a major sign that you need to make a change. If you don’t actively try and make a change now then you may find that things just end up getting worse, and this can impact you over the long run. Sure, some amount of dread is normal, but if you find that it’s getting too much for you to handle or if you are experiencing intense feelings of anxiety then this will impact you going forward.

The Money isn’t Enough

You could be bringing in a small fortune in terms of your income, but if you don’t feel as though it’s enough then this will work against you. You may be experiencing a sinking feeling regardless of how much you get paid. A lot of people feel good when they get paid for the overtime that they do, but if you just don’t feel any satisfaction then this indicates that whatever it is you’re getting paid, it’s not enough.

You’re Getting Bad Feedback

If you are getting bad feedback often and with a lot of consistency then this indicates that your job is not right for you. It may be that your coworkers don’t believe you are working hard enough or that they feel as though you aren’t pulling your weight. If this is the case then it may be that you are not dedicated to your position or that you are not taking responsibility for your role. That can happen if you have lost your spark, which is a major indicator that you need to make a change now or risk losing your job entirely.

While you might feel you’re in the wrong job, it’s important you’re not discriminated against or taken advantage of. For those who work in the medical career, having a license defense for nurses can be helpful to have on your side.

Your Heart Isn’t In It

If your heart isn’t in your job anymore then this is another sign that you need to find a new position. Find something you love and then seek a career that aligns with that. If you want to work in the marijuana business then you should check out this cannabis blog. Of course, finding a job that you love can be difficult but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible. You just need to stay dedicated to your craft and you also need to keep on pushing forward. If you can make sure that you do this then you should be able to see a major improvement in how you feel.

You Can’t Be Yourself

There are a lot of companies out there who want you to be robotic in your approach and just get the job done. That being said, they are dying out. Now companies are encouraging people to be themselves and showcase their personality in the workplace. If your current company is stopping you from doing this, then now is the time to make a serious change.
