#COVID19: 19 Original Things to do at Home during Quarantine

Welcome to the era of quarantine. Have you ever imagined you would find yourself confined at home because of a world pandemic? I know I haven’t!

COVID-19 (more commonly known as Corona Virus) has shaken the entire world. Over 110 countries are infected, with thousands of people dead. It really feels like we are going through World War III.

What the Corona Virus looks like

The next few weeks are critical to flatten the curve and contain the spread of this life threatening virus.

In this post, I will share with you 19 original things you could do while at home. No, it’s not spending time with loved ones, decluttering, or any of that. I mean 19 out-of-the-ordinary things. So, shall we?

1- Start learning a new language.

2- Cook a new recipe.

3- Get yourself a new hobby. An indoor one, mind you.

4- Plant something and watch it grow.

5- Set up a blog and start publishing posts.

6- Take an online course.

7- Learn to concoct homemade hand sanitizer and cleaning detergents. I swear I’ve seen someone do it online!

8- Try to read a book in a language you can’t speak, just for the fun of it.

9 – Watch a movie in a language you don’t speak and see if you can enjoy it just the same.

10- Watch Dance videos and learn a new choreography (Thank you, TikTok).

11- Go on a no spending challenge and try fridge foraging and pantry space clearing. Donate the money saved to your favorite charity.

12- Try saying these tongue twisters super duper fast.

13- If you’ve ever toyed with the idea of writing a book, now is the perfect time.

14- Volunteer your time to serve your community in any way you can. For example, offer free online services, consultations, classes, webinars, etc.

15 – Establish a new healthy habit and keep at it (hair care/skin care routine, working out from home, one healthy meal per day, drinking 2 L of water daily, etc.)

16- Set up a digital detox challenge. Yes, now, more than ever. If you’re home all day, it doesn’t mean you sit your butt watching Instagram and Facebook nonstop.

17- Have a go at art; you might discover a hidden talent.

18- Watch DIY YouTube videos and rely on yourself to do what you used to pay tons of money for. DIY haircut? I’m down for that!

19-If the outside world was an enabler of your bad habits, now is the time to ditch them. Say goodbye to your drive-thru trips and embrace a temporary honk-free, traffic-free world.
