I Penned A Poem About Lebanon…
My name is Rania and I am here to tell the story
Of a tiny country dubbed the Switzerland of the Middle East
Stained with destruction, but painted with glory
Known for its rich culture and its culinary feasts
I speak of beautiful Lebanon, with Beirut its capital
The land of the alphabet, of the people I proudly call mine,
The country of saints, where Jesus made his first miracle
In the southern city of Qana, turning water into wine.
Lebanon is no desert strip, winter mountains dressed in snow
Spring valleys covered in green, summer beaches’ sand is gold.
After a morning ski trip, take a dip or get a sun-kissed glow
Then hit the party scene, feel alive and watch the magic unfold.
Now as for the food, it’s on a whole other level
We have something for all tastebuds to be pleased.
From Tabboule, to Kebbe, to Hummus and Falafel
For all of the above, I’m proud to be Lebanese.
