Maya Angelou’s “And Still I Rise” on Google For Her 90th Birthday Today

I am no avid reader but there is one thing I know for sure: I love reading and listening to Maya Angelou’s poetry.

Today marks the late American poet, singer, memoirist, and civil rights activist’s 90th birthday, on the occasion of which Google honored her with a beautiful video where different celebrities read verses of her “And Still I Rise” poem. Among the readers are Alicia Keys and Oprah Winfrey, with a couple of verses in the voice of Maya Angelou herself.

Check out the entire video on www.google.com

It is noteworthy that “And Still I Rise” is author Maya Angelou’s third volume of poetry, published by Random House in 1978.

Maya Angelou died on May 28, 2014 at the age of 86. On that day, I wrote a blog post sharing my top 10 favorite Maya Angelou quotes.
