Managing Your Tech and IT Through the Pandemic

Now, more than ever, you’re going to have to take extra steps to manage your business’ IT and tech as effectively as possible. The coronavirus and Covid-19 pandemic have impacted all of us in many ways and we’re becoming increasingly dependent on our tech and IT to get our work done on a remote basis and keep our companies afloat. This may feel daunting and high pressure, but by making just a few small changes, you could really help yourself and maintain your profits. Here are just a few changes you might like to consider!

Invest in Insurance

If you’re moving your team to work on a remote basis, it’s definitely worth investing in insurance for all of your devices. Chances are you’ll be taking one of two approaches. Either your staff will be working from home on their own devices and your devices will be left in the office, or your staff will be taking your devices home with them to use. For the first case scenario, you need to insure your devices, as they’re going to be more prone to theft. Criminals are targeting commercial spaces like offices more than ever now that they know they’re likely to be empty and unmonitored. For the second scenario, devices are much more likely to become damaged or broken if staff are using them from home. Issues like spilt drinks over keyboards, or kids or dogs getting a hold of devices, can result in costly issues. Insurance will cover both of these situations, ensuring devices can be replaced or repaired as required.

Invest in IT Management

Of course, devices themselves are important. But you want to make sure that the software and applications on them are working fine all the time too. If your staff begin to experience problems with their devices when they are working from home, you may not be able to easily see their issue or resolve their problems in the same way that you might in an office. This is where IT management can come in handy. When you invest in IT management, you have a service that your staff can reach out to when they’re having problems. Issues can be resolved and productivity will be maximised. You can click here to find out more!

Invest in Communication Software

Teams can usually chat in person, asking the questions they need and arranging meetings as and when necessary to ensure that all projects are complete on time. But when your staff are working from home, this may be more difficult and you may find that issues arise as a result. Instead, make sure to choose effective means of communication for your staff. Microsoft Teams and Zoom have been extremely popular options during this pandemic.

We’re all having to change the way that we work. Managing your IT and tech effectively can ensure that everyone can adapt more easily and work to the best of their ability from home. Hopefully, some of the above advice will work for you!
