7 Simple Ways to Jump Start Your Health

When it comes to starting a health journey, whether it be to lose weight, get fit, feel better, or anything else, it’s best to go at it fairly slowly. Beginning at a slow pace and slowly adding more to it is going to make it feel more manageable. Making changes cold turkey can truly become overwhelming too fast to the point that you could relapse into your old habits. It’s best to just start with small changes, changes that you may not even notice at first. This way you’re not going to feel overwhelmed and you can gradually just continue adding more changes. These are some great little changes that can help in jump-starting your health.

Drink black coffee, if you can tolerate it

While black coffee is boring and even quite bitter, adding cream, sugar, syrups, and anything else to it is what makes it pack on the calories. You’ll greatly reduce your sugar intake by just sipping away at the brewed flavored beans. You can start doing that gradually or substitute plant based milks at first, or even nonfat milk.

Drop the soda

Many people love their soda, and that’s okay! There are some great alternatives to soda so you can still ease that craving. Sparkling water comes in a variety of flavors. Sometimes these have little to no sugar in them at all and you still get your bubbly.

Park further away

Whenever you’re having to go to the store, just park further away from the store. You’re going to be around fewer cars, you’ll have a far easier time finding your car, plus you’ll get to burn some extra calories with that walking. It’s these little changes that truly make all the difference when shifting lifestyles.

Use the stairs more

While the elevator and escalator are great, you should sometimes try switching to the stairs. If you work in an office building that’s the size of a skyscraper then you don’t need to take the stairs ( that’s going to take too long). But for a small flight of stairs can be much better and healthy to use in the long run whenever you have the time to do so. This can also allow you to get a pedometer so you know how many steps you’ve had thanks to the stairs.

Write down your goals

Keeping track of your goals by writing them down and occasionally recording your progress can do wonders for your mentality. This is going to keep you motivated and it’s going to remind you of how far you’ve gotten. This little essential can improve your life.

Drop the sauces

Sauces are filled with sugars, preservatives,  and so many unnecessary artificial flavorings. Instead of using sauces when you cook, try adding spices instead. This way you get to expand your taste and you’re consuming fewer calories.

Begin with slow exercising

If you’ve never exercised before, then the best option for you is to go at it slowly. This means instead of just running you power walk, walk fast, jog, and then run. This helps out in getting your body adjusted. When you exercise, if you have implants, you’ll need to think if your impants move when you flex. Ideally, you’re just going to begin slowly, and then later you’ll increase what you can do.
