How To Inspire Your Kids

There is nothing more that a parent wants than to inspire their children to be something amazing. We are their role models, their shining stars. All our children want to do is be like us. They want to grow up and be their awesome parents who are busy and working and giving them their love and attention. Children are perfect little mimics and they do nothing more than seek our approval.

They watch our habits, our jobs, our day to day lives and they take inspiration from things that we do. When a parent smokes, it’s very likely the child will smoke, too. Whether you take your own inspiration from the likes of Dee Agarwal or you are busy looking up to the latest celebrity, you need to be able to inspire your children so that they grow into healthy, excited adults. To be able to be that inspirational parent, you need these suggestions. Let’s take a look!

  1. Always be honest. Children will always appreciate the honesty of their parents. That doesn’t mean that you need to be brutal, but you need to give them the gift of honesty. Give your child the space to tell you the truth and talk to you about what’s on their mind. You just need to be there and listen, taking inspiration from what you don’t want to model from your own parents.
  2. Share your ambition. As a working parent, you might feel guilty for not being around all the time. The thing is, it’s good for your children to see you achieve, and you should think about ensuring that your children know what you do for a living and how you do it. If you want to inspire your children, share your ambitions with them and show them what you can do. You have to honor a role model and dream together where you can – your children will then come to you to share their ambition. And that’s beautiful.
  3. Always follow your compassion with a little action. Where you want to give back into your community, bring the children along to help you. If you talk about the way that you can give back to the community with your children, don’t just do it – model it. Go together to choose food for the food banks, and empower your children to help others. While you do this, build their self-esteem and practice as much kindness as possible.
  4. Help them practice positive thinking. Children need to have a positive voice in their heads and you are going to be that voice. Surround your children with beliefs that enable them to feel more positive. Every day, write down one positive thing that’s happened and remind each other of your love, too. Positive thinking is going to make all the difference, and you can foster this in your children growing up, too.
  5. Buy less and create more with them. If you want to inspire your children, you should spend less money on material things and spend more time creating things together.
