Love Physical Fitness? Try These Careers

If you love physical fitness, the human body and making it function at its very best, you’re in luck. There are a whole bunch of health and fitness careers out there where you can indulge your passion and get paid to boot.

Become A Bodybuilder

The world of bodybuilding is changing. In the past, the goal was simply to get the biggest, baddest muscles that you could. But today’s competitions are a little more refined. Yes – there are still huge competitors competing in heavyweight categories. But focus is shifting from these athletes to others in the lineup – including women.

Becoming a bodybuilder is a tough career path to take and you’ll have to supplement it with personal training, at least to start. But if you become successful and join the elite ranks, you can get income from prize money and sponsorships.

Become A Physical Therapist

If you prefer to go down the medical route, you might also consider becoming a physical therapist.

When considering physical therapy vs occupational therapy, think about the type of work that you want to do. Do you want to help people regain function – as in occupational therapy? Or do you want to improve pain symptoms – as in physical therapy?

The great thing about this career is that it pays well and there are plenty of protections, including healthcare insurance, and so on. In other words, you’re not out there, by yourself, trying to make a living. Usually, you have an entire team of people supporting you, sending you patients, and providing holiday.

Become A Gym Instructor

Today, there are all kinds of gym instructors out there. And, what’s more, they’re in high demand. Since the lockdown, people have been looking for instructors to provide courses to help them work out from home.

But how do you become a gym instructor? Well, it depends on the type of instruction you want to give. For instance, if you want to become a yoga instructor, you’ll need to do some formal training first. The same is true if you want to teach Zumba or Pilates.

Some gym instructors, however, only need basic training – just a standard instructor course – to get going. The purpose of these is to help you protect your clients and ensure that you don’t tell them to do anything dangerous.

Get Into Sports Supplements

The sports supplements industry is growing all the time. Manufacturers are looking for products that will give gym-goers more energy and help them build muscle faster.

But selling and distributing these products is never easy. It takes time and patience. And it needs the right people who understand how they work.

You can enter this industry at any level. For instance, you could join a supplements manufacturer and consult with them about the optimal formulation for their blend. Or you could be a salesperson for the brand, helping to introduce it to customers in the real world.

The approach you take depends on your unique skill set and aptitudes. Follow the path that makes the most sense for you.
